JOLIET -- A Frankfort couple, whose upscale home's attractive exterior hid squalid conditions inside, face up to four years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to felony drug possession and endangering the lives of their children.

Benjamin Fetzer, 32, and his wife Shannon, 29 -- parents of children ages 4, 3, 2 and 1 -- changed their pleas just moments before they were to stand trial at the Will County Courthouse.

Witnesses told police four occupants, all dark-skinned Hispanic males, were in the vehicle that fled. The driver was described as having braided hair, the front seat passenger was heavy set with a frizzy ponytail and one of the backseat passengers was wearing a white t-shirt, the other wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.

LYNN - A Hispanic male, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was thrown several feet into the air after being struck by a pickup truck on Washington Street, near Western Avenue, by an alleged unlicensed driver around 9:30 p.m. last night.

Chavez was arrested in Lynn at least once before, on Dec. 26, 2004, for domestic assault and battery.
